Paris, Friday September 16, 2022 – In a letter addressed to the hospitals that make up the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris, its new head Nicolas Revel announces a consultation of around thirty. “courses of action” that should last between four and six weeks.
Among the priorities: human resources, the operation and organization of work and the return to a sustainable financial trajectory.
In his letter, Nicolas Revel traces the contours of a Parisian hospital institution without blood with the nursing staff “at the lowest point for five years”with 1,830 fewer full-time equivalents compared to June 2018. “It is to be expected that, despite the hires already secured thanks to the collective mobilization (1,200 hires and 215 job refunds).

Another observation: the closing rates of the operating blocks are currently between 15% and 20%, and can reach from 40% to 50% in some sites. On this topic, Nicolas Revel will launch a “specific flash mission”.
On the trade union side, Christophe Prudhomme, of the social action CGT-Santé, replied: “The solution does not come only from a reorganization of the PA. Because of his political experience and because he directs the largest university hospital in Europe, he must defend the urgency of a training and recruitment plan with the government .”
