Pimco, one of the world’s leading bond investment managers, announces the appointment of Richard Clarida as Global Economic Advisor.
Appointed global economic adviser at Pimco, an internationally renowned bond manager, Richard Clarida, 65, former vice chairman of the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve, will take up his post in October. Based in New York, he will replace Joachim Fels, who has asserted his rights to retire.

Richard Clarida, who previously held the same position at Pimco from 2006 to 2018, will advise the manager’s investment committee on macroeconomic trends and events. It will be supported by a team of economists and experts in macroeconomic research in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. He will work closely with the four main regional portfolio management committees (Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, emerging markets).
He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University, currently holds the C. Lowell Harriss Chair in Economics and International Affairs at Columbia University, Richard Clarida has also served as a senior economic advisor. to two Secretaries of the Treasury of the United States when he was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy.
