Training to prepare for the Gendarmerie competitions without financial pressure in Montpellier

Give a chance to everyone who wants to become a gendarme. U Montpellier talent preparatory class made his official return to school on September 9 at the Faculty of Law in Montpellier. There are only four in France with Paris, Amiens and Clermont-Ferrand. Fifteen students joined.

It is a six-month training course to prepare police officer competition and those in the public service.

This course is intended for students who have validated a Master 2 and, above all, who are scholarship holders. He aims”those who have not had the opportunity to follow a preparatory course in a private place because they are sometimes expensive. We are offered a privileged working and training environment. They have a voluntary deputy status and a student status, so a double status that allows them to benefit from a small salary at the end of the month.” explains Isabelle Chazal, the head of the preparatory talent class in Montpellier.

Training for fellows

Integrate training, young people he receives a salary of about 1,150 euros net per month and they are welcomed free of charge at the barracks of the gendarmes of Castelnau-le Lez. This allows them to focus on their professional goals without financial pressure.

As for Pierre Revellat, 24 years old: “I come from a very modest family, so I provide for my needs, but also those of my family.” The young man did a law degree at the University of Toulouse Capitole. He had to work in parallel with his studies to be able to do his master’s. “I worked full time for college.” This preparation of talent therefore represents a real opportunity for him: “Having a salary at the end of the month while preparing for my competition was an opportunity I should not miss.”

The next registrations will take place between mid-February and mid-May.
